Waterfowl U.S.A.:
Over two decades of preserving America's Wetlands
Waterfowl U.S.A. was founded in January 1983 as the only national non-profit, conservation organization, dedicated to using funds in the areas in which they are raised for local and state waterfowl projects. It was founded by biologists for the purpose of preserving and improving wintering and breeding habitat within the United States. There was, and still is, a tremendous need to fund waterfowl projects on the local level. Therefore, local and state fund-raising chapters are being organized to lead the way in restoring waterfowl enjoyment. The purpose of this section of our website is to help the general public better understand Waterfowl U.S.A. Please follow the links below for more information about Waterfowl U.S.A. and what is stands for.

Waterfowl U.S.A. is a national, non-profit, waterfowl conservation organization dedicated to using funds in the areas in which they are raised for local and state waterfowl habitat projects. Waterfowl U.S.A.'s objectives are:
  1. To create interest in preserving and improving the remaining wetland waterfowl habitat within the United States.
  2. To organize local groups of concerned biologists, sportsmen, and bird enthusiasts dedicated to preserving our American waterfowl heritage.
  3. To educate the public to the importance of the conservation of waterfowl and the preservation of wetland habitat within the United States.
  4. To educate our youth in good conservation practices.
Waterfowl U.S.A.'s primary focus is to raise funds for the direct benefit of waterfowl and wetland habitat. Examples of approved projects include waterfowl management research, habitat acquisitions, conservation education, development of refuges, planting food sources for waterfowl, the establishment of resident populations of ducks and geese, and building, erecting and maintaining nesting structures. Waterfowl U.S.A. was incorporated in Edgefield, South Carolina in January 1983 as a tax exempt, non-profit organization and approved under IRS statute 501 (C)(3). Since its founding, over 60,000 conservationists from all 50 states and many foreign countries have joined and supported Waterfowl U.S.A.
